In a world overwhelmed by information and bias, we dedicate ourselves to meticulously curating the most relevant, accurate, and objective evidence in livestock sciences.

Our research is aimed at addressing the significant questions within food systems, striving to construct a repository filled with trustworthy data. Alongside our partners, we focus on offering actionable insights into livestock production and consumption.

Our ultimate goal is to foster a collaborative effort among all stakeholders, encouraging a unified movement towards a more sustainable global food system.

Our team

Peer Ederer

Director and Founder of GOAL Sciences

Prof Ederer is the visionary that inspired the creation of GOAL Sciences. Based on his years of expertise in business, economics, livestock sciences and the food system, he is leading the team and multiple partners into working together towards a sustainable food system.
Prof Ederer studied business administration at Sophia University in Tokyo and at Harvard Business School in Boston. He completed his PhD at the University of Witten Herdecke in Germany. He began his career as financial trader at Deutsche Bank, followed by being a senior consultant at McKinsey & Company. Since 1999 he has been a scientist and an entrepreneur with an emphasis in the global food system.

Olena Nosovets

Elena combines teaching and practical work in the field of mathematical modeling and statistics. She studied Сomputer Science at the National Technical University of Ukraine «Igor Sikorsky Kiev Polytechnic Institute» in Kyiv. Elena received her PhD in Medical and Biological Informatics and Cybernetics. In addition to working with data processing, she improves her knowledge of programming by creating applications in the field of life sciences and agriculture.

Taras Iliushyk

Taras received his master's degree in computer science, specializing in computer technology in Biology and Medicine at National Technical University of Ukraine «Igor Sikorsky Kiev Polytechnic Institute». Since then he has deepened his knowledge of coding in different software languages, with a special emphasis on creating data science applications for processing of big data.

Enrike Maree

Enrike is a researcher and consultant in sustainable agriculture, passionate about educating consumers and producers in their decision making. She holds an MSc Degree in Animal Science from the University of Pretoria, South Africa and is pursuing a Phd (Agric) degree in livestock sustainability. With her strong involvement in the academic sector and experience with farmers in the field, she gathers and curates relevant information on the livestock industry, and works to expand the network and reach of GOALSciences.

Diana Shevaha

Diana is a skilled data analyst with a strong academic background. She earned her master's degree in computer science, specializing in computer technology for biology and medicine, from the National Technical University of Ukraine «Igor Sikorsky Kiev Polytechnic Institute». Additionally, she holds a master's degree in finance, banking, and insurance. Diana launched her career as a machine learning engineer and has since gained extensive experience in the field of data analysis.

Bohdana Kalinovska

Bohdana received her Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in the same field at the National Technical University of Ukraine «Igor Sikorsky Kiev Polytechnic Institute» in Kyiv. Her passion for data processing, regression analysis, data forecasting, and data visualization has allowed her to gain a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field. Bohdana has a strong academic background in programming languages, data structures, algorithms, and software development principles, which helps her to effectively solve any tasks in the industry.

Elna de Lange

Elna is a researcher at GOAL Sciences, with a passion for animal nutrition and a background in animal science and feed manufacturing. With a BSc (Agric) in Animal Science from the University of Pretoria, she began her career as an animal nutritionist in the feed manufacturing industry, where she gained a thorough perspective of the South African animal feed industry. Elna combines her expertise in animal nutrition and her experience in data analysis to bring relevant, accurate, and objective data to the GOAL Sciences. In her personal time, she focuses on improving her horsemanship and living life authentically, inspired by the motto, «Carpe Diem».

Naomi Lupton

Naomi is a graduate of the University of Pretoria in South Africa, having completed both a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science as well as a master’s degree in Production Physiology with a focus on Meat Science and Animal Welfare. During her studies, she aided the Department of Animal Science and Future Africa Experimental Farm as a tutor, research assistant and photographer. She is currently employed as a Junior Researcher at the Global Observatory for Accurate Livestock (GOAL) Sciences and is interested in topics relating to animal -and human nutrition, animal welfare, and sustainable agriculture.

Sofiia Fedorenko

Sofia has a Master's degree in Computer Science, with a focus on Computer Technologies in Biology and Medicine, from the National Technical University of Ukraine «Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute». Since obtaining her degree, she has expanded her expertise in various programming languages, particularly concentrating on developing big data applications within the realm of data science.

Affiliation

GOALSciences is an initiative created and promoted by the Global Food and Agribusiness Network (GFAN), as a science-based service to the global livestock stakeholder community. GFAN is directed by Prof Peer Ederer and is registered as a commercial entity in Switzerland.
